General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
Local4You is committed to helping large and small organisations meet their responsibilities under the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) as enacted in UK legislation.

The GDPR refers to Personal Data and applies to all organisations processing such. Personal Data means any information relating to an identifiable person who can be directly or indirectly identified in particular by reference to an identifier.
The GDPR will be supervised in the UK by the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). There are penalties for non-compliance.

If your organisation has adhered to previous UK Data Protection legislation, this was a good grounding for the extension of requirements. Even so, there were still significant extra tasks and processes to undertake. If you were new to these regulations, you will appreciate this is a substantial exercise.

The lawful basis for processing Personal Information and addressing individual rights (in terms of transparency) are critical aspects of GDPR. Accountability and governance are emphasised in meeting the principles of Data Protection. There is documentation to be prepared as a Data Controller and Data Processor.
And in certain circumstances, a Data Protection Officer (DPO) may be required if you have not already got one.

Local4You can provide you with help at every stage of the significant and sometimes complex GDPR programme of work your organisation needs to carry out.
